We are an IPR led, superconductivity design business.
Our business area is heavy electrical devices and in particular superconducting machines for electric power systems on ships.
New heavy electrical equipment is developed through a series of de-risking technology demonstrator projects that create the value chain. We are working with Rolls Royce Marine who are one of the world’s leading major marine electrical systems integrators: the people who design and specify ships heavy electrical systems.
We also have an early sales opportunity for using the superconducting wire as low temperature connectors in NMR instruments and hospital MRI machines. Long term, the target is to enter the $200 billion market for land-based electricity distribution and marine switchgear, motors and generators.

Products / services:
We are partners in a £1m joint project with Rolls Royce, and Cambridge University to develop a marine superconducting Fault Current Limiter (FCL) - a kind of solid-state self-resetting circuit-breaker for ships.
