UK Rapid Manufacturing Platform

We will be developing the services of the UK Rapid Manufacturing Platform over the next few months, working with Newcastle University and Econolyst. Our aim is to alert British industry to the opportunities presented by rapid manufacturing technology and the support for development work such as EC Framework 7 calls, DTI Technology programmes and regional initiatives.

The European RM Technology Platform

The UK Rapid Manufacturing Platform provides a link to the activities of the European Rapid Manufacturing (RM) Technology Platform.

The European RM Technology Platform was initiated by TNO, the Dutch Research and Technology Organisation, and is supported by the European Commission. Now chaired by Siemens Corporate Technology, the platform is creating a critical mass of stakeholders throughout Europe. It has defined the research priorities and action plans for strategic issues in the development of rapid manufacturing. The European RM Platform website provides more details of their activities.
