Full House For Titanium Meeting
'The background was useful and I was able to talk to several companies
offering different production methods' - so said one delegate after
the PowdermatriX meeting on Titanium in Birmingham on 20 February. Seventy
five delegates attended the meeting, and academics were outnumbered
2:1 to industry representatives. The reviews of different industry sector
requirements alongside capabilities from new powders and processes highlighted
a number of needs for UK including Metal Injection Moulding, Clean Atomising,
Net Shaping and High Porosity Medical Prostheses.
PowdermatriX will now facilitate partnerships initially in the jewellery,
small parts and medical sectors and will explore further opportunities
in aerospace and automotive sectors as new powder manufacturing offers
'tens of percent' reduction in costs.
