Engineering the Green State - Industrial Workshop
27th September 2007, CERAM, Stoke-on-Trent
“Engineering the Green State of Powder Products” was a major EPSRC research project organised by PowdermatriX Faraday
and based at six leading UK universities with the support from over 20 companies. Aimed at improving our fundamental
understanding of dry powder processing and die pressing, the project has guided improvements in properties and production quality
for a wide range of industries from metal, ceramic, hard metal products to magnets and pharmaceuticals.
On Thursday 27th September 2007 at CERAM Research, Stoke-on-Trent, an open Industrial Workshop gave an overview of the enhanced
understanding created within the project.
A series of presentations from the research groups covered:
- Powder formulation, mixing and blending (Birmingham University)
- Segregation and flowability during subsequent handling of powder blends and their delivery to the forming press (Greenwich University)
- Filling of the die cavity from the powder shoe (Leicester University)
- Pre-compaction powder transfer within the die (Manchester University)
- Issues related to the die pressing of nano-scale powders (Loughborough University).
You can obtain PDF copies of the presentations by entering your details here....
